Architectural repellent is the most efficient, ecologically sound and inexpensive way to prevent pests.
Mice only need a hole of 6mm to enter, while rats require a hole of 20mm. Those are very small openings that you might not even notice. Mice and rats now like to live near people and may seek locations for their nests in buildings.

Why work with a pest control specialist?
Of course, a pest control firm is not a construction company. A pest control specialist doesn’t just focus on the structural aspect but rather looks at weaknesses regarding pests.
Unsealed or partially sealed openings can cause problems, as rodents are constantly trying to find their way through by ‘gnawing’. Pests can also gnaw their way in if the right materials are not used.
So the emphasis is on the structural prevention of unwanted pests. We ensure that all openings are thoroughly sealed with the right materials. For existing clients, we already know the specific problem and risk locations based on the location.
Eversor professionally advises on pest exclusion measures. It’s always tailored to your business.
Other risk analyses can also be conducted, and staff can be trained in the basics of pest prevention.
What operational measures can be taken?
Outdoors
Preventive measures on the exterior of a building, there are many possibilities.
Sealing expansion joints and ventilation openings
Larger openings can be effectively sealed with cement or sheet material. In this process, the plate is sized to be placed over the hole to prevent pest access.
Larger ventilation and other openings
Ventilation openings are sealed with a stainless steel grid. This seals the opening from pests while preserving their ventilating function.
Sealing gaps and crevices with caulk
Window frames and other structures that don’t fit properly are improved, a special exclusion kit can be applied. It may be necessary to first install a stainless steel mesh to prevent mice or rats from gnawing through.
Indoors
Indoors, the focus of structural pest exclusion is on limiting the movement space. Rats, mice, and other pests like to roam around in a building. They do this in search of food and nesting sites.
Sealing cracks and crevices
This is achieved by sealing off pipe penetrations and holes that lead from one space to another. For example, holes and gaps around pipes from the basement and crawl space are sealed off. Old holes of heating pipes in meter boxes are sealed.
