Do you need treatment against bed bugs?
A bed bug is a small blood-sucking insect. This little creature has been causing more and more trouble in Belgium in recent years. Do you want to know more about bed bugs? On this page, you can find everything about bed bugs. You can read about their lifestyle, ways to identify bed bugs, and methods of control. You’re in the right place; we have our professional advice ready for you.

How do I recognize a bed bug infestation?
A bed bug infestation is very difficult to control. Often, an infestation can drag on for months or even years. Due to the difficulty of control, the bed bug is often referred to as “the horror bug.” Therefore, always leave the extermination to a professional.
So, how do you recognize the bug or its presence?
Above, you can see a picture of the bug. Additionally, the easiest way is to recognize the bites. Bed bugs never bite just once. There are always multiple bites in a row. The bites can spread all over the body. Another way to know that bed bugs have established themselves , is the presence of fecal matter. Those appear as dark, small spots on sheets, mattresses, pillows, and blankets.
It’s important to proceed with professional extermination as soon as possible. The bugs can reproduce and multiply very quickly.
What about do-it-yourself remedies from the internet or the store?
For bed bugs, we always strongly advise against attempting to handle the situation yourself. DIY remedies rarely, if ever, work. What you can do yourself is wash all your textiles and bedding at least at 60°C. Clothing that cannot be washed at a high temperature can be placed in the freezer for a minimum of 4 consecutive days.
Do you recognize one or more characteristics? Don’t hesitate, prevent problems, and contact us immediately.
Which treatment methods are available for bed bugs?
There are three methods that are most common for bed bug control.
Mechanical method
The first and simplest method is the mechanical method. This involves effectively removing the bugs from their hiding places. This can be done, for example, by thoroughly vacuuming the mattress. Another way is by setting traps where the bed bugs get caught. This method is unfortunately only effective to a very limited extent, and as such, we either do not use it or apply it only as a supplementary measure.
Chemical method
Another method is the chemical treatment. This involves the use of biocides. These must be applied to the places where the bed bugs hide. Due to increasingly stringent regulations, it is becoming more difficult to carry out a chemical treatment. Only professional exterminators are allowed to carry out such a treatment.
Physical method
The third and final method is physical. The aim of this method is to raise or lower the living environment of the bed bug to extreme, lethal temperatures. This method is the most effective. Adult bed bugs, eggs, and nymphs are killed. Here, the entire space must be heated to 60°C for an extended period or cooled to -25°C. Eversor specializes in this and can safely apply these professional techniques and methods virtually anywhere.
